SHAREHOLDER
Brian Jenney helps families and individuals with elder law and special needs issues, as well as estate planning and administration. For those planning ahead, Mr. Jenney prepares wills, trusts, and powers of attorney to ensure the proper handling of medical decisions, finances, and the distribution of assets. For family members facing more immediate elder care issues, Mr. Jenney assists with guardianships and conservatorships for ailing loved ones. In addition, he helps families navigate the administration of wills and trusts, special needs trusts, and related tax issues following the loss of a loved one.
Mr. Jenney earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and received his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School. He also holds a Certificate of Completion in probate and estate planning issued by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) and the Probate & Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
Mr. Jenney is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and is a member and co-founder of the Brother Rice Warrior Bar Association. Brian is married to a physician and is the proud father of two sets of twins.
Brian Jenney has been recognized as one of the State of Michigan’s outstanding attorneys in Estate Planning and Probate Law. He earned the Rising Star designation from Michigan Super Lawyers magazine in 2008 through 2010 and again from 2012 through 2013. He was also selected for inclusion in the 2011 and 2020 through 2025 editions of Michigan Super Lawyers, recognizing the top five percent of attorneys in Michigan in the practice area of Elder Law. In addition, Mr. Jenney was named to the Top 100: Michigan Super Lawyers list in 2025.
Mr. Jenney has also been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2026 for his work in Elder Law, Tax Law, and Trusts and Estates. He was honored as The Best Lawyers in America® “Lawyer of the Year” for Elder Law in 2023 and has been recognized by the publication continuously since 2010.
Additionally, Mr. Jenney has been designated a Leading Lawyer in Elder Law and Trust, Will and Estate Planning Law from 2017 to the present, a distinction awarded to the top one percent of attorneys in Michigan. DBusiness magazine recognized him as a 2026 Top Lawyer in Trusts and Estates, an honor he has received annually since 2023.
